Step-by-step instruction to setup the agent

Agents are available as part of the AWS marketplace offering. This make it easy to try and run service securely in a private cloud environment.

1-Click Deployment from AWS Marketplace

  • Preparation: Gather following information before you start.

    • It is expected to have appropriate permissions to deploy this product on AWS environment, as an agent deployment will provision the following resources.

      • Profile, Role and Policy in IAM

      • SecurityGroup for routing

      • Secret in Secret Manager

      • EC2 instance with an agent

    • Following details should be handy before starting the deployment.

      • Common

        • Cloud infra details: VPC, Subnet, IP4 Address range to allow access, EC2 instance type, environment name (like pilot, dev, prod), Unique id

        • IAM Service details: Please refer IAM service specific page under Solution documentation section.

      • Metrics Monitor

        • Prometheus URL in case of push (remote write) mode Amazon managed prometheus (AMP) workspace in same AWS region or other external prometheus endpoint.

        • Dashboarding tool which supports prometheus and json based data sources

      • Log Ingestor

        • Loki push URL

        • Dashboarding tool which supports loki as a data sources

  • Deployment

    • Search for 'Metrics monitor for <IAM Platform>' (example: 'Metrics monitor for Okta' for Okta metrics monitor agent or 'Metrics monitor for IBM Verify SaaS' for IBM Verify SaaS metrics monitor agent)

    • Provide the details gathered in preparation step

    • Submit the request

Advanced deployment

AWS Marketplace agent for metrics monitor are pre-configured for specific endpoints and pull frequency which can not be changed.
